A high-end phone chip (Apple's A18, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8) has 16-19 billion transistors. That's about 2× the number of stars in the Milky Way (200 billion). Each transistor is smaller than a virus. We squeeze an entire computer onto a square of a few millimetres.
