PSYCHOLOGIE GEWOON

Confirmation bias: we automatically seek information that confirms our existing beliefs, and ignore evidence that contradicts them. In a 1979 experiment death-penalty supporters and opponents read the same studies — both ended up MORE entrenched in their original views. It may be the most influential bias in human decision-making.
