Question

Did you know? The Spanish flu (1918-1920) killed an estimated 50-100 million people worldwide — more than WWI (17M) and WWII (75M) combined, in just 2 years. The name "Spanish" is misleading: it didn't originate in Spain, but Spain (neutral in WWI) was the only country to write openly about the outbreak.

Accepted Answer

The Spanish flu (1918-1920) killed an estimated 50-100 million people worldwide — more than WWI (17M) and WWII (75M) combined, in just 2 years. The name "Spanish" is misleading: it didn't originate in Spain, but Spain (neutral in WWI) was the only country to write openly about the outbreak.
