FILOSOFIE GEWOON

Marcus Aurelius, emperor of Rome (161-180 AD), wrote in his diary at night during military campaigns. The work — "Meditations" — was never meant for publication and is one of the most personal philosophical texts ever. In it he constantly confronts his own weaknesses and reminds himself that everything is temporary.
