Bertrand Russells "theepot": stel ik beweer dat er een theepot om de zon draait, te klein om te zien. Bewijs maar dat hij er NIET is. Niet kunnen weerleggen ≠ bestaan. Russell (1952) gebruikte het analoog tegen religie: bewijslast ligt bij de bewerer, niet bij de scepticus.
