Question

Did you know? The unicorn was seriously believed in during the Middle Ages; "unicorn horns" (actually narwhal tusks) were kept as precious relics in royal treasuries. The myth only collapsed once European expeditions reached the North Sea and saw narwhals themselves.

Accepted Answer

The unicorn was seriously believed in during the Middle Ages; "unicorn horns" (actually narwhal tusks) were kept as precious relics in royal treasuries. The myth only collapsed once European expeditions reached the North Sea and saw narwhals themselves.
