Rawls' "veil of ignorance" (1971): bedenk welke samenleving je zou ontwerpen als je niet wist welke positie je daarin zou krijgen — rijk of arm, gezond of ziek, slim of dom. Dat experiment leidt automatisch tot een eerlijkere samenleving, want je beschermt je tegen de slechtste uitkomst.

Rawls' "veil of ignorance" (1971): imagine which society you would design if you did not know which position you would occupy in it — rich or poor, healthy or ill, smart or dim. That experiment automatically leads to a fairer society, because you would shield yourself from the worst outcome.
