Question

Did you know? The Aztecs used two calendars at once: a sacred 260-day cycle for rituals and a 365-day solar year for farming. They only lined up every 52 years — and each time the Aztecs held a giant "New Fire" ceremony, fearing the world might end if they did not.

Accepted Answer

The Aztecs used two calendars at once: a sacred 260-day cycle for rituals and a 365-day solar year for farming. They only lined up every 52 years — and each time the Aztecs held a giant "New Fire" ceremony, fearing the world might end if they did not.
